About Unrestricted Funds

Unrestricted Funds was formed in 2020 by Ambrose Trataris during the pandemic as a way to make funding opportunities more accessible with a focus on awards averaging over $1,000, prioritizing BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ applicants and projects, and unrestricted funding. The database is designed to make key information more clear to grant seekers so they can determine their eligibility and competitiveness easier and faster. Unrestricted Funds has expanded to provide additional tools to grant seekers including deadline calendars, open source grant templates, and free one-on-one consultations.
